About Otto's Odyssey - Gameplay, Part I

Sadly, I did not get a call back for the job I mentioned last post.  I seriously hate the job market right now.  Sigh!  Anyway... I am sort of taking a break from working on the game at the moment while I try to find a job, but that doesn't mean I can't still update!  I figured this time around I would start talking about the ideas I have for the game up to this point.  If you'll recall, this game originally started as my capstone project for college.  I had to come up with all sorts of stuff for it, so that's what I'll be sharing with you today!

Leaping From and Landing On Slopes

I just applied the other day for what would be an amazing job and I am perfectly qualified for it!  I am supposed to hear back by tomorrow at the latest if they want to interview me, so if I don't get a phone call I'm going to be pretty disappointed.  I won't be surprised, even though I feel like my qualifications align more closely with this job than any other I've applied to in the past few months, because I've only had one employer call me back since February.  It's just so frustrating trying to find a job in this economy... Well anyway, on to the topic at hand -- leaping from and landing onto sloped tiles!

Power Tools for the Slope

I feel like the past three posts I've been trying to mold these slopes with primitive technology.  It's as if I found a small rock and stick with which I've been trying to chisel away at these blocks in order to make sloped tiles.  It's taken forever and the end result is messy!  Wouldn't it be great if there were already better tools out there that could be utilized to make this job a lot easier?  Well, in case if you haven't picked up on where I'm going with this yet, there just so happens to be a set of tools like this!

A Shorter Slope

Sorry for the delay in posting this time around, folks!  The past several days have been very busy and, to top it off, my monitor died in front of my eyes.  I was just sitting there doing my thing and my monitor faded to black like it was going into sleep mode, except the power light went off as well.  I was really hoping it was just a bad power cable, but, alas, it was not.  To make it even more aggravating, my three-year warranty for it expired literally two days prior.  Never again will I purchase an Acer product!  It's too bad I don't know anything about monitor/television repair, because I did some research and it seems like whatever went bad might be something replaceable.  Oh well!  Maybe when I have the time and the money I can learn how to diagnose and repair things like this.
